BROACHING

Roll-Fast has in-house Broaching machine. Where parts require special broaching operations, we can provide them with the help of our machines.

We have inhouse Broaching machine setup. Our machine gives higher accuracy & productivity, that gives 0.001 mm accuracy of products. We do broach on bolts, Shafts, Anchors, Barrel, Key cuts, Gears, automotive parts and many more. We are manufacturer of fasteners and Components for many industries & specializations in customization products.

What is Broaching?

Broaching is a machining process that uses a toothed tool to remove material in a consistent and accurate way.

There are two main types of broaching-

  1. 1. Linear Broaching
  2. 2. Rotary Broaching

Linear Broaching

The tool is moved linearly against the work piece surface. The linear version of the process is by far the more common of the two.

Rotary Broaching

In rotary broaching the rotating tool is pressed into the work piece, producing an axisymmetric shape. This process variant can be performed by using a milling machine or lathe. Blind shapes are easily possible using this method, and the tooling is relatively simple.

Also, Broaches can typically be placed into two categories: (1) surface or (2) internal. Surface broaches comprise a variety of broach designs.

  • Slab
  • Slot
  • Contour
  • Pot
  • Straddle

Internal broaches are another style of the broach. These also come in a variety of styles.

  • Solid
  • Shell
  • Modular
  • Keyway
  • Concentricity
  • Cut-and-recut

Typical Applications

The uses of broaching in hand tools, appliances, Gear Teeth, Ends of connecting rods, plumbing, automotive product, farming equipment and a variety of other military and industrial applications. However, the primary use of broaching is in the production of high-volume parts that require accurate, repetitive, and complex cuts.
