PTFE COATING

PTFE is not a product on its own, but a brand name of a product. It refers to a chemical coating known as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). It's a type of plastic sprayed on various items and then baked to create a nonstick, waterproof, noncorrosive, and nonreactive surface. PTFE, otherwise known as Polytetrafluoroethylene by PTFE Coated Bolts Suppliers & manufacturers is a synthetic fluoropolymer coating. A thin fluoropolymer coating offers a non-stick yet, durable and superior properties. PTFE Coated Nut Bolt have the highest operating temperature as compared to other fluoropolymers.PTFE Coated Bolts And Nuts have a good abrasion resistance , chemical resistance and extremely low coefficient of friction. In fact, the coefficient of friction in PTFE products is the lowest in solid substances.

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) industrial coatings have:

  • The highest operating temperature of any fluoropolymer (260 °C [500 °F])
  • The lowest coefficient of friction
  • Good abrasion and chemical resistance

PTFE industrial coatings are commonly used in mold release applications for products such as golf balls and rubber mats, but can be utilized in multiple applications and uses.

These PTFE coatings for multi-coat systems are only available as a water-based liquid. For general benefits on PTFE coatings, see the table below.

Teflon Coated B7 Stud Bolts are typically used in applications where a low friction, smooth and corrosion resistant coating is necessary. For example, One of the most popular uses of PTFE Coated B7 Studs is in the food industry, where non-stick applications are required in food grade coating.

PTFE Coated Nuts are one of the most sought-after non-stick products because the coating has an outstanding release property. Thus, these PTFE Coated Screws can withstand higher temperature of about 500°F. Heat applications of the PTFE Coated Fasteners is higher as opposed to other fluoropolymers. The coating applied to these fasteners is to a thickness of approximately 1 mil.

Since PTFE is hydrophobic or does not absorb water or water containing substances, it has a high demand in those industries that require water repellent properties from their equipment like the food industry, medical and surgical equipment’s etc. Because of its hydrophobic nature, PTFE Coated Fasteners are resistant to bacteria and hence are very useful in the field of medicine.
