CHAMFERING

Chamfering is an important process when making a stud bolt. All stud bolts require ends to be chamfered which provide easy access for nuts fitment and functionality. These chamfers can be at 30 or 45 degrees which also depend upon the customer.

What is the chamfering process?

Chamfering is making a small cut, usually at a 45-degree angle, to remove a 90-degree edge. Chamfering is used in woodworking, in glass cutting, in architecture, and in CAD, and it's also a useful tool for deburring.

Chamfering eases assembly, e.g. the insertion of bolts into holes, or nuts. Chamfering also removes sharp edges which reduces significantly the possibility of cuts, and injuries, to people handling the metal piece
